The Biscuit Factory - Newcastle

Contemporary Young Artist Award Exhibition

7th March - 25th May 2020

For this exhibition I entered my graduate work, 'If The Shoe Fits', which is made up on 3 ceramic figures, their ceramic shoes and their textile underwear. The piece is a social commentary on being a modern Brit.

"'If the shoe fits' looks at the complacency within our culture and the part that brands and designer labels play by encouraging stereotypes, divisions and ultra-materialism. Selfish Sean, Obsessive Olivia and Immature Isaac are very British characters (created from life-long observations) that are linked by their shared attribute of overindulgence"

Bevere Gallery - Worcester

Graduate Exhibition 10th January - 4th February 2020

I created 'Toeing the Line' especially for this exhibition because the curators had asked for my Graduate work, but as it wasn't for sale, I decided to extend my 'If the Shoe Fits' project and make some more smaller, developed pieces.

I wanted to create a varied collection which had some different price points, so some pieces were more time-consuming and complex and others were a little easier or quicker to make.
